The Overrides panel allows the operator to have manual control over every output in the show, and when virtual hardware is connected, every input that is virtual.
If you are operating an established show, there is not much need for the Overrides panel when the show is live. Outputs will be triggered by the show's Behaviours and there show not be much need to manually override an output.
However, during Reset, the Overrides panel will be useful for setting up outputs e.g. an actuator that controls a drawer will need to be manually reset by hand.
It is also useful if you need to test a prop outside the show being Live. e.g. during maintenance or testing.
Before real life hardware is connected to COGS, you are able to simulate all your inputs and outputs virtually in the Overrides panel. This means you can run an entire show from start to finish, testing that the inputs trigger the right actions as per your Behaviours.
When real hardware is paired, the simulated inputs are no longer available.
It is possible to have some paired hardware boxes and some unpaired boxes at the same time, meaning you will only see the simulated inputs for the unpaired boxes.
