All channels need to be patched to COGS boxes in order to run a real Live show.

• You can patch a channel either:
  • From the Channel view in Patching - use the drop down to select what box channel you want to patch to (only compatible channels will appear in the list).
  • In Connect → Chosen box → Ports - you can fill in the compatible channels in each empty space.
• You can:
  • Patch all your channels to virtual boxes, and then those boxes can be paired with real life hardware.
  • Patch channels to paired boxes.
• It is useful to patch your channels to virtual boxes so you can work out how many COGS boxes you need to buy.
• You can re-patch as much as you want.
• You can only patch channels that are compatible with that type of box. e.g. RFID channels can only be patched to an RFID Master.
• N.B. even though both the DC Master and the Digital Master are compatible with output channels, they have very different power specifications, so make sure you connect a device compatible with those specs. The same goes if you are connecting a magnetic lock or a magnetic catch. One needs constant power to be locked, the other needs no power until it is unlocked with a short burst. To get these mixed up risks damaging your devices.

Patching channels is a slightly different experience depending on what box you are patching to:

• Patching channels to the Digital Master
• Patching channels to the DC Master
• Patching channels to the Motor Master
• Patching channels to the Sensor Master
• Patching channels to the RFID Master
