In COGS, you can decide how you want your show to flow, whether linear, or non-linear, restartable, or for an immersive show/ haunt, scenes that happen on loop indefinitly. You can tell your scenes when to become active using Start Scene When…
Every Scene Setup page has the ability to Start Scene When something happens, whether that’s when the show begins, it’s started from another scene, or when a states match condition becomes true.
You can start a scene as soon as your show begins, this can be useful when either creating lots of scenes that occur at once (e.g. haunt, standalone prop).
You can start a scene when other scenes have finished to help you create a linear/ non-linear experience.
Example: If you wanted Scene 2 to become active after Scene 1 had finished, you would start Scene 2 when Scene 1 had finished. This way you will create a linear flowing game.
Alternatively, if you wanted to have a non-linear experience where players complete Scenes 1-4 before moving onto Scene 5, you could start Scene 5 when Scene 1, Scene 2, Scene 3 & Scene 4 had finished.
You can start a scene when you trigger a Start Scene action in another scene.
